We are all about helping clients solve business problems and make better decisions by taking raw data and converting it into actionable knowledge. We design, develop and build cost-effective, custom database solutions using Claris FileMaker that empower our clients with data-driven, value-added information.

Our Methodology

Businesses are drowning in data. The promise of harnessing new information and enabling data-driven decisions has – in reality – been a painful clash between business needs and complex technology. Silver Lake’s goal is to cure your pain as fast and efficiently as possible.

Every project is different but we always start by understanding your business, culture, industry and growth and scalability needs. The approach we would typically take with your project follows the industry standard Systems Development Life Cycle.

Methodology - Silver Lake Productions Consulting

Small By Design

Silver Lake is a small company, and that’s the way we like it. Small size means we only deploy senior consultants, so our clients get best-in-class solutions:

  • Best-in-class technical and development skills
  • Best-in-class practical business experience working with all levels of management and IT to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions
  • Best-in-class capabilities of transforming a daunting and complicated issue into a simple and logical framework, to resolve one step at a time.

Small size means our clients get personal attention to their business problems.

Company Culture

Silver Lake’s passion for customer service, responsiveness, and attention to detail are ingrained in our culture and embodied in every team member. When Jeff Scornavacca started the company, he made a commitment to hire people who are self-motivated, smart, and totally focused on client needs. You know the type – these are people who are driven to succeed because they love what they’re doing. They are eager to please and happy while they work. What a concept! Every new project is like a brain teaser, challenging them to find the most effective and efficient solution, and they won’t stop until the client is happy.

Our Team

Jeffrey Scornavacca, Principal

Jeff Scornavacca is the Principal of Silver Lake Productions and oversees all database development, project management, and business analysis. The value that Jeff brings to clients is unique. He is that rare person who understands both business needs AND technology-based solutions. He bridges the gap between business and IT to solve his clients’ problems.

Jeff started developing databases to solve business problems 20 years ago while serving as tour manager for world-class musicians George Benson and John Hiatt. With a passion for efficiency, organization and planning, Jeff created his own systems for managing tours across multiple continents, coordinating stage crews, musicians, instruments, performance venues, and operations and logistics – all on time and on budget.

Word spread about his work and, when the tours ended, Jeff began consulting to other organizations. Over the years, Jeff’s expertise has benefited clients like Johnson & Johnson, adidas, Reebok, General Dynamics, Real Networks, Ocean Spray Cranberries, LaminatedFILMS & Packaging, AMI Entertainment, Metropolitan Entertainment, Middlebury College, M.I.T., Tufts University, and Inotek Pharmaceuticals

Jeff also worked as Chief Data Architect and Chief Information Officer for HomePortfolio, Inc., which had the largest online presence in the fine home furnishings space, including furniture, lighting, appliances and kitchen and bath. Jeff was responsible for designing and building the company’s database of almost 100,000 items, as well as the attribution scheme which accommodated multiple attributes per product (i.e. sofa, 7 ft. long, red, velvet, mahogany legs, available at XYZ store). Jeff was also responsible for integrating a new Oracle database – best-in-class application for speed and scalability – with the Claris FileMaker database used by the editorial staff.

As a business analyst, software developer, and project manager Jeff Fewlass has successfully designed and implemented Claris FileMaker solutions for many companies including Johnson & Johnson, GTECH, Harvard University, The University of Rhode Island, and many more. He has successfully integrated his solutions with enterprise systems using accepted industry standards such as XML, ODBC and XSLT.

Jeff has 20 twenty years of professional experience bridging the gap between business and technology. Jeff began his career in 1990 working for Apple Computer by leading the design and implementation of an $11 million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for the Macintosh computer, which included a Claris FileMaker system to track assembly line testing.

After Apple, Jeff joined start-up Amplitude Software where he served as Director of Systems Engineering. He was instrumental in the success of the company by bringing in clients like AT&T, MCIWC, Sprint, KPMG, Deloitte Touch, Arthur Andersen, HP, IBM, General Electric, and State Farm. As the new market leader, Amplitude was acquired by Critical Path for over $200 million. Jeff continued in the new company, working with enterprise-level relational database systems such as Oracle, Sybase, and MS SQL Server.

In 2002 Jeff co-founded JMCF, Inc., a $4 million commercial/residential painting company. He designed and implemented a custom Claris FileMaker solution that managed the entire business including sales tracking, proposal generation, product ordering, job setup, job tracking, payroll, and inventory control.
